Real "Home" Networking

I found a cool link about home networking of the future and came across a slew of really cool information. I followed a lot of the links and read about how to setup your kitchen and living room to a central computer and control it from any where. You could keep digital recipes on your computer and simply press a button to have your oven preheat for a certain dish, set the correct time, etc… You could also schedule, store, and search all of your recorded movies (aka: TiVo) to a central machine, with enough storage to record 7 channels simultaneously for 5 days non-stop.

I have an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder Pro 9800 card that does some cool stuff for scheduling and recording (much like a TiVo), but nothing like this. When Jennifer and I build our log cabin on our property (one day), I plan to hook it up so that my computer will control everything (phone, stove, microwave, electric, security cameras, television, radio, vcr, dvd player, speaker system, etc…). It would be awesome if some cable network created another reality TV show called ‘Pimp My House’ and they just hooked it up with ‘tech’ stuff. I hope CBS reads my blog and calls me.
